Collecting and Classifying Colored Diamonds

"My mission in writing this coloured diamond textbook was to provide interesting reading for the scientist, practical and thought provoking observations for the gemologist, encouragement and challenges for the collector and investor, along with straightforward text and beautiful photographs for the novice to get acquainted."
S. C. Hofer

It has been over fifteen years since Collecting and Classifying Coloured Diamonds was published.  This 760 page book documents all 260 natural diamonds of the Aurora Collection and it provides the diamond industry and interested consumers with a blueprint for reference. The book offers several new ideas and theories about colour, along with practical techniques and methods for looking at and measuring colour, and a complete system for describing colour in diamonds, known as the Universal Diamond Colour Language (UDCL).
